video art

The exhibition closes with video art representing five artists dealing with issues of personal identity. Susan Mogul's taped performance, The Last Jew in America, humorously regards the ways in which Jews have been represented and stereotyped in popular culture. Barbara Nuddle's Coping with Clothing challenges the stereotype of the Jewish American Princess obsessed with clothing and shopping. Gregg Bordowitz, producer of Fast Trip, Long Drop and Sandi DuBowski, producer of Tomboychik, both explore the multifacted nature of identity, and acknowledge the importance of family and ritual. In Untitled, Seth Kramer creates his own memorial to the Holocaust.
