Unlike most nations in the world, almost everybody’s family came to this country from someplace else. The tales of who our ancestors were, how they got here, what they did when they arrived -- and all they have achieved since -- are the treasure this museum exists to preserve. There is no single “American Jewish Experience”. But weave all the threads together, and an endlessly rich and compelling tapestry begins to emerge.
Come meet the dreamers, the believers and the achievers -- and contribute to a
profoundly inspirational human experience.
The National Museum of American Jewish History tells the story of more than 350 years of American Jewish history, but also invites you to share your stories with us and with the greater community. Everyone has a personal story or a family story and those stories should be heard, shared, and preserved.
