Being Jewish At Christmas
Monday, December 25,
noon-
4 p.m. at the Museum
Being Jewish at
Christmas” will be more fun-filled than ever as the National Museum of
American Jewish History presents any array of music, magic and more at
the annual day of family fun on Monday, Dec. 25, noon – 4 p.m.
Returning this year will be Shirlala!, whose outrageously hip Jewish
music for kids wowed participants last year with their unique blend of
music, stories, and dance. Also returning this year is Mark Spencer
Goldstein with magic and juggling.
New this year are 2006 “Best of Philly” Party Entertainer Ken Fink from
Wondergy, who fuels curiosity by making science fun and exciting;
Michael Rosman, whose amazing feats of all-ages comedy has been seen on
The Late Show with David Letterman and who has performed numerous times
in Atlantic City; and Philadelphia actress Jennifer Blaine, whose
adventuresome, interactive show Bounce! celebrates teamwork and
collaboration. Refreshments are provided and all children receive
Hanukkah gelt (small chocolate coins.)
Participants can also view the temporary exhibition, Forshpeis! A Taste
of the Peter H. Schweitzer Collection of Jewish Americana, which
reveals flavorful aspects of American Jewish life by looking at food in
a range of settings, including in the kitchen and at the deli.

Jewish History, Independence Mall East, 55 North 5th Street, from noon
to 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person (children three and under
