Congregation Jacob Joseph of Miami
Beach changed its name to The Miami Beach Jewish Center in 1941. Their first
building under the new name had a groundbreaking ceremony on December 22,
1946. Though the congregation changed its name again in 1954 to Temple Emanuel,
this house of worship on Washington Avenue in Miami Beach is in current use.
