Congregation
B'nai Jehudah is the oldest Jewish congregation in the Kansas City metropolitan
area. Its synagogue on Linwood Boulevard was dedicated on September 11, 1908.
For almost a century the building has housed a rich tradition of service,
initially as a house of worship, then a Masonic Temple, and currently as a
community multi-services complex. The original structure has been renovated
and a new wing has enlarged the facility, now known as the Linwood Multi-Purpose
Center providing health, recreation, social and other services. In 2000, B'nai
Jehudah dedicated a new chapel, religious school and assembly hall in Overland
Park, Kansas. An adjoining sanctuary is in the planning stage.
