Originally established in 1850,
this Reform congregation went through a variety of names before Temple Israel
was built in 1892. Standing at the corner of First and Jefferson streets
in Dayton, Temple Israel used this third building until 1927. In the year
2000 they will celebrate their sesquicentennial anniversary.
