Philly Pride Shabbat: A Jewish LGBTQA Community Celebration

Friday, June 12, 6 - 9 pm @ NMAJH 

$20/$14 for Students and Seniors
 
Join J.PROUD, Jewish Philly LGBTQ Consortium and the Young Friends of NMAJH to celebrate a special Shabbat during Philadelphia Gay Pride Week. The dinner features remarks from Pennsylvania State Representative Brian K. Sims and, Deputy Consul General for the Consulate General of Israel to the Mid-Atlantic Region, Elad Strohmayer .

The Museum is joining institutions across the Philadelphia region to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first Annual Reminder demonstration on July 4, 1965 at Independence Hall in Philadelphia.  We have anexciting array of programming planned — including an artifact installation, an online story collecting project, and new additions to the core exhibition — focusing on the role of Jewish Americans in the barrier-breaking movement for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender rights.
