Sensory Friendly Day of Play

Sunday, December 2 from 12-4pm


Enjoy a self-guided sensory friendly experience the Museum's Core exhibition and the special exhibition The Art of Rube Goldberg featuring quieter sounds,  cool-down spaces, sensory friendly backpacks, and more. This event is a part of the Museum's accessibility program to invite those with autism and other special needs to explore the Museum in a way that is calming, enjoyable, and informative.

Arts and Crafts on the Concourse

Listen to story-time and enjoy the company of therapy dog, Koda.

Sensory Backpacks will be available on a first come first serve basis. Stop by the front desk to reserve your backpack!

Backpacks contain emotion, action, and general Museum communication cards, noise-reducing headphones, a weighted compression shoulder pad, fidget tools, and tinted glasses to avoid over stimulation.
