SUPPORT: Digital Membership Card FAQ

What are digital membership cards?

Digital membership cards offer convenience and ease of use for members. Eco-friendly and fully integrated with mobile wallets, digital cards streamline the membership process and reduce the costs associated with physical card creation and distribution. Digital membership cards can be downloaded and saved to your smartphone or tablet without the use of a third party app. Going digital means you never have to worry about forgetting your membership card.

How will I receive my digital membership card?

Your Digital Membership card will be sent to the primary email address provided when you join. When you receive the email with your digital cards, click the included link to download your card(s) to your smartphone or tablet. If you are renewing your membership the expiration date on your digital membership card will automatically update within 7-10 business days. If you have not yet installed your digital membership card, and need support, please email bheaney@theweitzman.org.

iPhone | iPhone users will access digital cards through the Apple Wallet

  1. Access your email through your smartphone or tablet, click the “Download” button, then “Add to Wallet” and “Add”.
  2. Your new digital membership card will automatically appear in your Apple Wallet, where it can be accessed at any time.

  1. Download Wallet Passes from the Google Play Store. This app must be downloaded prior to downloading your digital card.
  2. After downloading Wallet Passes, open digital card email from your smartphone or tablet and click “Download”. Your new digital membership card will automatically appear in the Wallet Passes app, where it can be accessed at any time.
How many member card(s) will I receive?

Individual members receive one membership card.

For Dual level members and above, two cards are issued per membership, both of which will be delivered in separate emails to the primary e-mail address on file.

If two names are designated on a membership, both cards will list both names. (Example: [John Smith and Mary Jones].  If a second name is not specified for the membership, the first card will have the member’s name and the second card will read “Guest of [Member Name]”.

How do I use my digital membership card?

Open your digital card in your Apple Wallet or Wallet Passes and present your device just as you would a physical card.

What will be on my digital membership card?

The front of your digital card lists your Name, Member Level, Member ID with Barcode, Expiration Date and, (if eligible) icons for the North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM) and Council for American Jewish Museums (CAJM) reciprocal programs. The back of your digital card will provide a full listing of your member benefits.

How will my secondary member receive their digital membership card?

For Dual Members and above:  For memberships with two names listed, two cards will be delivered to the primary member in two separate emails with both names listed on both cards. You may either forward the secondary member the email and card or download both cards and “share” the card through Apple Wallet or Wallet Passes.

For memberships where a secondary member name is not designated but rather is listed as “Guest of [Primary Member Name]”, you can download both cards to your wallet and use the ‘Guest Of’ version for any guest that accompanies you or “share” the card through Apple Wallet or Wallet Passes to a person of your choice.

How do I share my second digital card?

After installing the card on your first device, you just need to enter the card on that phone and use the “Share” button that is located on the back of the card to distribute the pass to other members that are included in your membership plan.

iPhoneSearch for a three-dot icon at the top right of your card.

  • Once you tap on the icon, search for an icon that looks like an arrow over a square on the top right of your screen.
• You will see sharing options like Airdrop, Mail, etc… Use one of those options to share your card (we recommend you use the Mail option).

Android | Search for an “i” icon at the bottom of your card.

  • Once you tap on this icon, you will see a button that says “share pass”. Tap on this button.
• You will see sharing options like Mail, SMS, etc… Use one of those options to share your card (we recommend you use the Mail option).

If you are using GooglePay: due to Google’s internal structure, the sharing option is not available for the membership cards. However, members can forward the email to the person who wants to download the card and use the Google Pay option as usual. The big difference between Google Pay and Wallet Passes is the same link can be used for both members.

How can I access the content on the back of my Digital Membership Card?

To access the back of your Digital Membership Card, please follow the steps below:

  • Open your Digital Membership Card.
  • Tap on the “three dots” icon at the top right of the card. If you don’t see this icon, make sure you are not accessing the card from your lock screen.
