Celebrating Hometown Heroes

American Jewish history is filled with stories of everyday citizens who strived to make their communities a better place, inspired by their heritage, traditions, and values, and embodying Rabbi’s Hillel’s ancient words that we must all do our part and stand up for one anotherIf I am only for myself, what am I? And if not now, when?

So, this Jewish American Heritage Month, we are inviting the public to nominate and vote on the first ever Jewish American Hometown Hero to be inducted into our Only in America Gallery/Hall of Fame. The individual selected will be recognized as an Only in America inductee and have the chance to participate in our annual induction ceremony this fall. They will also receive half of all donations received throughout the nomination and voting process to support their work in the community.

We need your help to find these exceptional individuals. If there’s a Hometown Hero in your community who you think deserves to be recognized for their work in the community during this past year, nominate them by May 20th using the form below. And don’t forget to come back to vote beginning May 28th. Spread the word!

Make a donation to support NMAJH and the Only in America inductee here.
